Hoods and stitches were established by Neil Spencer. A former professional infantry soldier, drayman and author with decades of experience in automotive upholstery. After a short military career due to being wounded by a suicide bomb. He then joined Leisuretrim in Ponthir. An automotive upholstery business established by his father John Spencer in 1990 who was a well respected automotive upholsterer with almost 40 years of experience.

After his fathers death, he then left the upholstery world and spent the next 10 years as a drayman delivering the beer kegs, but in Feb 2024, he took the gamble by leaving his permanent job to open his own automotive upholstery business and Hoods and Stitches were born.
