Neil Spencer: Automotive trimmer and owner

Neil has vast experience in the upholstery industry, stemming from a lifelong background in a family of upholsterers. 

Formerly a professional British infantry soldier, he left with an exemplary military record and a medical discharge after being wounded by a suicide truck bomb in Iraq. He subsequently spent over a decade working at Leisuretrim in Ponthir, a specialist automotive upholstery business founded by his late father in 1990. 

After leaving the upholstery world in 2015, he spent the next 9 years working as a drayman delivering the beer kegs, but realised where his true passion was and in 2024, he resigned to establish Hoods and stitches Newport.
